Windham NH Area Information

Windham, New Hampshire is located in the southwest corner of Rockingham County and offers residents an easy commute to Manchester, Nashua NH and Boston, Massachusetts. With a current population of approximately 15,000, the Town offers excellent educational, recreational, and business opportunities.

Boston is a mere forty minutes to the south, the seacoast lies less than an hour east and recreation at New Hampshire's largest lake, Winnipesaukee, less than an hour to the north.

Windham has often been referred to as "The Jewel of Southern New Hampshire" relative to the efforts expended by a dedicated group of staff and elected officials toward keeping the level of service high and the taxes low. By consistently maintaining one of the lowest property tax rates in the region, while simultaneously enhancing infrastructure and services, Windham has fast become a highly sought after location for many within the nation's "Most Livable State".

Once a small, close-knit community, Windham has steadily grown in population since its inception. Windham has firmly resisted the influx of industry; and has, in spite of time and change, retained its "country atmosphere."

Windham offers municipal parks, tennis courts, biking and hiking trails, fishing and boating and several golf courses. There are youth activities available for children including soccer, basketball, baseball and hockey. Windham also has many fine restaurants as well as museums, and theaters.
