Wilton is a town in Hillsborough County, NH in the Manchester-Nashua metro area, with Milfor being the closest city about 2 miles away. The population of Wilton is around 3,900.

Like many small New England towns it grew up around water-powered textile mills, but is now a rural bedroom community with some manufacturing and service employment. One tradition says the town was named for Sir Joseph Wilton, a friend of Gov. Benning Wentworth; another says it was named for a town in England.
