Sandown is a town of about 5,900 residents in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, about 12 miles north of Haverhill, and 42 miles north of Boston, MA.
Once part of Kingston, Sandown was incorporated as a separate town in 1756 by Colonial Governor Benning Wentworth. It was named for picturesque Sandown on the Isle of Wight.
School students in Sandown attend Sandown North School for grades 1-3, Sandown Central School for grades 4-5, Timberlane Regional Middle School for grades 6-8 (located in Plaistow) and Timberlane Regional High School for grades 9-12, also located in Plaistow.
