Pelham, NH is located in Hillsborough County, with Boston a mere forty-minute drive to the south and Manchester, NH is about twenty minutes to the north. With a strong economic base and a population of around 13,000 residents, Pelham has managed to keep the town center looking the same as it did nearly two-hundred years ago. A sense of local pride with a solid plan for continued business growth as well as the expected influx of new residents is Pelham’s expectation.
Pelham was split from Old Dunstable in 1741, when the border between Massachusetts and New Hampshire was changed. It was incorporated in 1746.
Activities abound in the Pelham area, including skiing (downhill and cross-country), hiking, bicycling, fishing, swimming, camping, tennis, golf and snowmobiling. There are several malls close by, bowling, cinemas and many antique shops.
Pelham, along with Windham, New Hampshire, is a part of School Administrative Unit #28. Both towns independently operate their own schools while sharing the SAU. Pelham is home to the Pelham Elementary School, teaching grades one through five, Pelham Memorial School, with grades six through eight and the Pelham High School, which covers grades nine through twelve.
