Welcome to Nashua NH

Nashua NH has the unique distinction of being the only city in the U.S. to be twice named Money magazine's “Best Place to Live in America.” With a population of nearly 90,000 people, Nashua NH is the second largest city in the state of New Hampshire. Nashua is located in Hillsborough County, NH and is just north of neighboring Massachusetts.

The area that is now Nashua NH has been inhabited by natives for nearly 10,000 years and is found where the Merrimack and Nashua Rivers meet. In more “modern times,” the early English settlers moved into the region in the mid-1600s. Back then, the area was settled as a fur trading town. By the early 1800s in the midst of the Industrial Revolution, the Nashua area was home to a number of cotton mills – popular, in part, because of its riverfront location providing easy shipping access.

Today, with the textile industry giving way to the sprawling expansion of business and commerce of the Boston region in recent decades, Nashua enjoys a diverse economy and attracts interest from businesses throughout the United States.

Nashua, NH is home to a number of colleges and universities offering a variety of studies and an equal number of associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees. The area is well known as a growing region, with an increasing number of people relocating to the Nashua and surrounding areas for employment opportunities and its excellent public and private school facilities. In addition, the area enjoys a high overall quality of living and boasts very low crime rates.

Manchester NH

Situated in Hillsborough County on the Merrimack River, not only is Manchester the largest city in New Hampshire, but it’s the largest in northern New England. Manchester is located just 20 miles from the Massachusetts border and less than an hour from the city of Boston. With a population estimated at approximately 110,000 people, Manchester NH is a relatively fast-growing city – in part because of the quality of life this New England city has to offer.

Manchester has garnered a number of national awards – named by Forbes in 2009 as the cheapest place to live in New England – thanks, in part, to the city’s affordable housing prices and overall low cost of living. In addition, Inc. Magazine ranked Manchester, NH as #7 on the list of “Best Small Cities for Doing Business in America” in 2005. And in 2009, CNNMoney.com ranked Manchester #13 on its list of 100 best cities to live and Manchester, NH Homes For Sale start a business in the U.S.

Concord NH

Located in Merrimack County, Concord is the capital of New Hampshire. With a population of roughly 43,000 Concord is amply served by two interstate highways – I-89 and I-93.

Because the state of New Hampshire has no sales tax or state income tax, the cost of living in the Concord, NH area is among the lowest of cities of similar size in all of New England.

Concord was just ranked by WalletHub.com as the 7th Best U.S. State Capitals in which to live. Among the notable criteria for the ranging was Concord’s extremely low unemployment rate, its relatively high median household income and the overall health conditions in the city.

The city boasts a completely revitalized downtown area that’s home to a variety of things to see and do. There you will find the Concord City Auditorium, the Museum of New Hampshire History, the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium and other popular attractions. The downtown area also features the Capital Center for the Arts – a 1,360 seat performing arts center attracting entertainers from all over the world.

Concord NH living is highlighted by what seems to be an endless array of events and activities including those centered around family fun and entertainment. Among such offerings are hiking trails, canoeing, walking tours, boating and more.

Education is important to the quality of life in Concord NH, and the city is home to a number of public, parochial, and private schools. When it comes to higher education, Concord features the University of New Hampshire School of Law, the only law school in the state. In addition, the city is home to the New Hampshire Technical institute, Hesser College, and the College for Lifelong Learning.

Concord NH Homes for Sale

Concord NH homes for sale include ranch style homes, condos, some select waterfront properties, and some vacant land. While home prices may start in the $60,000 range, there are a number of homes on the market at or near the $3 million mark. The median home value in Concord is around $200,000 – slightly higher than the county median home value of $188,500. Hampstead, NH is located about 30 miles from Concord NH and is situated in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. One of the town’s most popular and best-known features is its historic old Main Street – complete with restored Colonial homes.

Hampstead’s population is approximately 9,000 residents. The town is within the Merrimack River watershed with the summit of Butman Hill in the northwestern part of the area, near the town of Sandown and a short commute to Salem, NH and Routes 93 and 495. Peterborough NH

A town of approximately 6,500 residents, Peterborough is located in southern New Hampshire, about 25 miles from Nashua and 60 miles from Boston. Known for its popularity as a tourist destination, Peterborough is also a highly sought-after area for young families and retirees alike.

Peterborough, NH is home to one of the oldest basket manufacturers in the country, as well as home to the headquarters of Eastern Mountain Sports, an outdoor apparel and equipment retailer.

Nearly 96% of Peterborough residents are high school graduates, while more than 60% have earned college or graduate degrees. The median household income in Peterborough NH is slightly more than $42,000.

Peterborough is considerably less family-centric than the surrounding county, with just over 23% of households comprised of married families with children 18 or under. The surrounding county, has roughly 35% of households with kids and family.

Since 2014, the town has achieved 100% reliance on sustainable energy. Peterborough maintains its own elementary school (the Peterborough Elementary School) and sends students in grades five through eight to South Meadow School and student in grades nine through twelve to Contoocook Valley Regional High School.  All three schools are located in Peterborough.
